I find lightly used 4JG2 engines on ebay all the time. Anyone got the balls to do this swap?
I sure don't, at least, not with a LOT of prior knowledge and having been assured that it will work in the end.
From what I understand, it's cheaper to sell a vehicle and buy new than it is to convert it to diesel. That may be true for a Chevy pickup, but they just didn't send Diesel-equipped Troopers to the states, now did they? At least, not after '91. My buddy's got a '90 with a diesel, but that's not helpful for this forum.

I am wondering about this too. My engine in the big troop just let go yesterday after putting up a hard fight at 193,000 miles. Now I am looking at replacement options. I drive it almost everyday up here at school so whatever happens has to happen soon. If anyone knows anything that might help me out like pros and cons of trying to do this I would be eternally grateful. I am a suspension person not an engine person but I'm slowly learning that stuff and if it would be worth it I would deffinitly be up to look into it.
