on second gen amigo/rodeos, people have been putting on 1" body lift pucks -ordered from jc whitney for a grand total of about $20.
I looked at the body moutns on my trooper, our mounting bolts have a good inch in them also where I imagine 1" pucks could be placed. The rodeo/amigos had to lengthen i believe a 4wd actuator cable (does that sound right?) and that was the only complaint of it i found. If anyone has 20 spare bucks and the desire for a cheap inch gain on ride height, this would be a good experiment.

You know, maybe this isn't the best place to ask but, what kind of work goes into lifting a vehicle, even doing so for the $20 you mentioned?
Is this something that can be done by someone in their garage? How long does it take? I've seen kits that look as if you have to take the darn truck completely apart to install them, and while I may be very good around the house, I've never done anything remotely complex with a car, especially with something as critical as the suspension.
So, for a complete newbie, what words of wisdom can you (or anyone else) offer?

When me and my cousin put a Body Lift on his 77 ford, we: *get truck into garage *place jack stands(4) under the body(not frame) *remove the mounting bolts that hold the body and frame together *air-down the tires, thus letting the jack stands support the body alone, and the frame(including drivetrain, so on) drops down *place pucks(spacers) in between the body and frame *air-up tires *replace the mounting bolts
With troopers, i know you have to mod the shifter cables, but with manual 5spd(like mine) you might want to extent the actual shifter rod, especially the 4wd shifter. Thats all i know for know.

that is the most simple way of doing it i have yet heard of RS.
For a 3" body lift you have to have longer stuff here and there, but what i'm getting at is that people were doing a 1" lift, significantly smaller than the 3", and not having to replace anything in their 2nd gen rodeos/amigos except for that one hose. I'll look later and make sure what hose they are replacing. it would just be a super cheap inch gain, even if you had to pay a little extra for the longer (un-specified) part i mentioned.
