Now that's an improvement!
What did you use for your bumpers? Did you take it to a body shop, or did you do it yourself?
I've got the light sand-colored bumpers and moldings, too, and I was thinking of rolling on black bedliner for a similar effect. My wife bought my blackouts for my headlights, and I'm going to buy a can of VHT Niteshades to do the tails with. All black is the way to go!!

My bad! VHT Niteshades is a really cool product. It's paint that is made specifically for tinting lights. It makes them look black, but doesn't block the outgoing light, therefore keeping them legal. My wife bought me a pair of headlight covers for Christmas last year, which were something like $40-50. They're made my AVS (AutoVentshade), [glow=red,2,300]Model 37220 [/glow] which used to be GTS, or maybe they took them over. Anyway, they go on and come off real easy, and look pretty cool. One thing I'd say is definitely either get some really bright headlight bulbs, or be prepared to take them off at night. I put them on at 4pm one time, came out at 10, and started down the highway. I couldn't see a thing in front of me. I had to pull over and take them off. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal if you had driving lights to light your way, but sometimes the cops here are sticklers about that.

Cool idea! Do the shades cover the indicators too? I did the painting myself...with rocker panel paint, a compressor and a cheap paint nozzle. Palm sanded the hell outta it and primed it a couple times then hit it with the gun after taping it off meticulously. I repainted the top half of the bumper black due to scratches. I want to take the silver trim off the windows or paint it worst case scenario. I plan on getting black tail light guards and a standard black brush bar. But now that it's looking mostly the way I want it, I'm focusing on getting the 15" sub and mono block amp in. Then dark tints, bars and rims (going to swap in amigo wheels)...and eventally bigger rubber to fill out those big wheel wells. Then naturally I'll need some sort of electronic counter measure suite...(radar jammer)......

Love the ride. I think with the blackout headlight and tails it should look even better. Once again nice ride.

Opcomm, I was extremely pleased to see that you were considering adding some sort of radar jammer, until i realized you probably mean a radar detector device. Dont underestimate the effectiveness of chafe flares as an alternative.

Chaff flares? Can a guy even buy those? I've only ever seen them on Metal Gear Solid, in grenade form. To answer the question about the covers covering the indicators, they sure do. So well, in fact, that I can't use mine at night, because I can't see crap with them on. They're pretty dark. I'll get some pics soon and post 'em up. OPCOMM - Man, you stole my idea! (JK). I was even thinking about snagging the door handles from a pre-'98 Trooper in base form, so they'd be flat black. Then, the only things on it which would still be chrome would be the side and rear Trooper emblems, the 3.5L(3.2L) on the back door, and the grille. Of course, that becomes more problematic if you have an LS or a Limited, depending on the year, because a lot of them came with chrome side mirrors. That's why I went with the black rockcrawler wheels instead of something chrome. I wanna black that baby out, man! As far a tint goes, there's a guy here in Lincoln who said he'd do mine 5% in back and 20% on the front doors for $200. That sounded like a deal. But, since it's already got tint on it, albeit light, I think I'll hold off a bit. I bought some cheap pickup bed liner paint in a rattle can from Advanced Auto, and was planning on sanding her down and throwing that on. We'll see how that goes. It might turn out like crap. We'll see, but for $30, I had to try it.

I found some GTS light shades but can't get confirmation on the light style... they are model: Trooper II 92-On GT0959 does anyone know if these are the rectangular type for my 93 or the pointy type for the newer models?

I'm betting you're good to go. They probably made that catalog entry before '98, so as far as they knew, they body style was never going to change. For example, if, this time last year, I was making a product for a durango, I'd say it would fit all durango models, since they're all the same in the headlights. But this year, of course, there's an all-new design, but I wouldn' t know that unless I worked for Dodge. I know that rambled, but I hope it made sense. Here's a link to the Auto Ventshade ones (same thing) for just under $50.

Thanks for the reply...That's exactly the same logic I used. Good to get confirmation from someone else. I won the shades on an ebay bid for 14.95 + 12.50 shipping! So I'm quite happy. They are described as smoke whick might be better (legally speaking) than the blackout ones.
Cheers, Mike

I think the "smoke" designation basically just means they're not clear protective ones. They're still protective, just not clear.
Frankly, based on what I've gathered your intentions are, you don't want them to be anything brown, though, which I don't think they are.
That's a helluva bargain!!
I think my wife paid $50 for mine.
Got any new pics of your rig? I'd love to track your progress. I picked up some bedliner paint from O'Reilly's for $7.50/can. I thought, "even if it sucks, it's still better than champagne," or whatever color the flares and molding is now.

yeah I'm happy with the price obviously...I figure I saved 60% plus. I'm waiting for some time to wash the beast and take some pics...I'll update my cardomain site soon. I had som custom decals made for it....One dark grey canadian airforce sign for the last window on the driver's side(once I tint em darker it will be even lower contrast) and a couple on the smaller rear door. one med. grey and one white...not exactly in keeping with the stealth theme but TIGHT none the less....
Aside from putting the shades and 15" sub in I'm going to have to halt the cloaking venture for a financial breather!
