Just a random questions... On my old sub/amp setup, there was an RCA converter that was attached to the "out" lines of my amp. It was WAY louder before a shop took it out of the setup, they said it wasn't needed. What is the function of an rca converter, and why would the volume level of the bass from the amp/sub setup change?

That doesn't make sense. I don't see why they'd be on the output. I could see a line level converter on the input, but the output?
E-mail me or post a pic. That'll give me/us a better idea of what you're talking about.

Err... okay maybe it was to the input line - I don't actually know which it was on (in/out) but I thought output. Either way, does it make sense to have it there?? The guy in the shop who removed it said he had no idea why it was there, but the bass was louder before he took the thing off.
No one wanted my old setup (the 2 10's, 560w 4channel amp) so i may put it in another car, I was wondering how in the world an rca converter figures in to the rest of the picture.

Okay, what's going on is the input was receiving too high an input signal, so, in order to keep it safe, he probably yanked it in favor of a line-level signal.
