I have a 1998 Trooper and am tryin to put an exhasut on it. I want one that will add some horsepower a lil rumble to it but without a rice rocket sound. Woudlt hurt to get a few extra MPG's if possible anyone got any ideas or heard of anything working. Let me know that would be great

There are a number of ways to go, but I would definitely recommend a 20" Dynomax Super Turbo and 2.5" tailpipe. I had that setup on my 99, and it sounded great. Deep sound (for a V6 anyway), without being ricey. Quiet at cruise and highway, but you hear it on acceleration. I had #17748 on mine. JEGS or Summit has 'em. www.dynomax.com/documents/super_turbo_specs.pdf

You're not going to see a dramatic improvement from changing a muffler, but it does help a little...I felt a subjective improvement in accel via the "butt dyno", but who knows. I was never very anal about mpg, if you worry about that you are driving the wrong vehicle I think the muffler was around $50, I honestly don't remember what it cost to install it and the cat-back pipe. Any shop that bends their own pipe can do it.
