Here's a pic of a Corvette LT1 and 700R4 Tranny in a '97 Rodeo. If it can go in a Rodeo, it can go in a Trooper, I'm thinking. Other, perhaps more realistic options, can be explored here. I've been looking for a smashed Aurora in the area. None yet, but you never know... [glow=red,2,300] myweb.cableone.net/bcanderson/trooper/AuroraSwap.html[/glow]

My 3.2L sohc has some terrible valve tap that is getting annoying, it literally sounds like a little diesel, except once i acclerate you can tell its just a trashed engine. 107k miles. Hopefully by the time mine goes someone will have a v8 swap done and can hook us up with details.

Hey, i had thaty valve tap also(I had it bad too). I used sea-foam, added 1/3 the bottle to my crankcase, presta...i literally drove the noise away in like 30 seconds. I have a mopar 318 and a transmission, but no reason to be gutting my dodge ram of it(yet). My troops kicking but at 140K miles!!! ;D

I think i might have valve tap also, but I'm not sure. It's not super loud or anything but it does sound diesel like. What is this sea-foam stuff?

Sea Foam can be bought in most major auto parts stores. I always get it at my local NAPA, but I'm sure it is available anywhere for around $5-8. Anyway, Seafoam is a petroleum based product designed to clean your motor's interior parts. It can be used in the crankcase, fuel system, even EGR. Many folks swear by the stuff. Check some other sites like www.4x4wire.com and do a search on Seafoam and you will gets loads of imput... HTH.
