I have a 98 Trooper with 70,000 miles on it now. The check engine light has been coming on so I took it to the shop. Upon placing it on their diognostic machine, it said my #4 cylinder was misfiring. They replaced the coin on top of the spark plug but still getting a misfire on #4. The mechanic has had it for two days now and says I might need a new chip or computer. Looks like the dealership will have to fix this one.
How much am I looking at by way of the bill for this?
The mechanic said it was the pcm part of the computer? I don't know what that is.
Thanks Keith
