The 3.5 is a total POS!!
Along with the oil consumption issues some of us have to deal with, I had an alternator almost crap out last November, and now my AC compressor is hosed.
$600+ for a remanufactured one!!
I'm glad I have the extended warranty thing in place, but man, I'm tired of this motor.
I'm getting in touch with a shop in Omaha, NE, HP Motorsports, about doing a Series II 3.8 swap out of a Grand Prix, or a Regal, or something like that.
I'm sick of the parts being two to three times as much money for this POS Isuzu motor as they are for a GM motor.
If only they'd have put the 4.3 out of the S-10 trucks in these things. At least then I'd have a really easy SBC swap. It'd bolt right up to the 700R4 left behind by the 4.3.
And to think I was kinda looking around for a Trooper for the wife.
Isuzu can go to hell, as far as I'm concerned.

Man, I'd suggest taking really extra special care of it, or you'll end up like the rest of us....
Grrr.
On the plus side, I spent 2.5 hours on the phone last night with a guy who's about 3/4 of the way done swapping into his VehiCross an LS1 with a 4L60-E!
It's going to be one bad ass machine when he's done.
He said he's going to try to document the process as best he can, so it'll be duplicable by me and anyone else.
Can't wait to see that LS1 under the hood of his VX.

Yeah. I'm all over the web looking for a stock or mildly built LT1, LS1, or any L98 with a 4L60-E behind it to cram into the Trooper somehow.
My biggest hurdle right now is to convince the wife that we need a third vehicle.
She's a hard sell.
