Well, just when I thought that the ole' Trooper was good to go, I look out my window and see a piddle of antifreeze under the truck at about the cross member.
Turns out there is a water manifold on the back of the engine connected to the heads. The mechanics around here wanted to pull the engine and the dealership wnated about $800.00 to install new gaskets, so I decided to tear the thing down my self.
After taking the air chamber plenum, fuel rail, and intake off, the water manifold was still very hard, but not impossible to get off. Putting it back was another story.
I still hve to reassemble the intake and everything, but I have almost got it fixed. I just hope that the stupid thing doesn't leak after all this. OR at least until I can trade the truck in on something that will be more dependable.
I am convinced that I have gotten hold of a "lemon" . I know all Troopers can't be this much trouble, but everysince the engine turned over 150,000 things have going out on a monthly basis.
I'll let you guys know if the truck ever runs again.
