tell me what you guys think about this. in a month or so i'm getting my '94 trooper painted. i was thinking of doing a two tone paint scheme(currently one color, a bright red). i was gonna paint the top part a dark red and the bottom part(not the part that flares out, but the from bellow the trooper emblem on the sides which starts from the dip down) a dark grey. also the trooper emblems on the sides will be taken off. same paint scheme goes to the front bumper and well the back bumper will be all dark grey since it doesn't have the division that carries on from the body in it like the front bumper. then i was gonna let them paint my scratched up steelies(rims) the same dark grey as the bottom portion of the body. around the grille is gonna get the same red and inner part stays black. on the interior the dash trim and door handles get the same color red. what are ya'll thoughts on it?

sounds cool, esp. matching the wheels color with the lower portion of the body. of course the color is good, a dark gray... i wouldn't want red rims but to each his own =) isn't having the inside painted going to make it cost a good bit more?

Well when i went to go get a first estimate they told me to just paint it a darker red and fix some rust spots and dents would be $1,500 Belize dollars which is like $750 usd. But now since i want to do all that i'm gonna go back today to get a new estimate on it. I don't think it'll be much more since I do know the owner of the shop.

BELIZE? What's that like? I lived in England for 4.5 years, but have no idea what a country such as Belize is like. Of course, that might be a difficult question to answer. If someone from another country asked me "what's that like" when asking me about living in the US, I don't know how I'd answer. All I could do is lay out comparisons between living here and in the UK. I'm off-topic, but hey, it happens.

well like you said it would be hard to explain. but generally it's a nice tourist destination. for the past couple months we've had cruise ships coming in everyday. however, we also have a large amount of people living in poverty. when it comes to vehicles you can practically do any kind of mod you want and they'll still lisence your vehicle as long as it has the basics like brakes, headlights, and tails working well.

That's way cool.
Here, with regard to mods, the range of what you can do and still get it licensed varies a lot.
Here in Nebraska, for example, it's the same as Belize, by the sounds of it.
Pretty much just have to have brakes, lights, a windshield, and that sort of stuff.
They're not too picky about lift kits, bumpers, add-ons, and stuff like that.
As long as all four turn signals, the rear license plate light, and headlights work, they're not bothered.
You have to have a seatbelt in non-"grandfathered" vehicles, and it must have a DOT windshield. I think that's it fore requirements.
Now, in California, some New England and other states, there's a LOT more that it must adhere to.
Glad I'm not there for that reason. Wish I were there for others....
