Haven't seen much done in the way of this except for removing doors. Hell thats a good topic - post is upcoming. anyone thought of, done, or seen done any cool body modifications such as functional hood scoops, laser-guided missles, etc?

I think hood scoops look awesome on troopers, its just the price vs functionality makes it not worth it to me. I've thought though before of something like carbon fiber or fiberglass body parts to lighten up our heavy rides, fiberglass though may shatter on impact if you got it on trails. carbon fiber, that would be way expensive i suppose.

i was thinking about shaving off the little roof or whatever that's over the rear lisence plate and my spare tire holder, since i don't use it anyway. don't know how it would look though. what you all think.

I'd say more trouble than its worth for like, functionality and stuff. you foregoing a spare tire mount altogether? one advantage of keeping the little hood thingy over the lisc plate is that it is a potential point to have a ladder bolted to it (it bolts on somehow with the 1st gen ladders there)

that license plate thing seems prety platicy if you ask me. How would it hold a ladder? Actually, it does hold a function, it houses the light for your license plate i know that for what i know, if your vehicle is equipped originally with them, you must have them for inspection and safety reasons. If you wanna be real coool, you can make the rear door a tai-gate and the top portion glass that folds up, like bed shell on a pick-up....that would be coollllllllll ......atleast to me

i never use my spare holder because whne it's on it my back door sounds as if it's gonna rip off. so it stays off. and the light for my license plate thingy is broke and i don't plan on putting any ladders on my vehicle.

Hey DNA - I've contemplated taking off my spare and having it like yours. Not that there are any problems from it. Only thing is, I see troops around sometimes that are without the spare, and that mount is kinda ugly in my opinion. You know of anything to cover it, or can the mount be removed? I'm basically too lazy to remove my spare to see if the mount can come off too.

Yeah it can be removed. Anything is possible. I like the look it has because with it there and no spare tire it looks ugly. I've seen it on a bighorn and it looks nice.

i took my tire carrier off, made a bracket and mounted a toolbox back there so i could free up some space in the back. its just below the window so i have the whole window to see out of, and it make the tools more easily accessable.... i can get some pics if anybody wants to try it........ took me about a day to round up the metal, get it welded and mounted and it makes for a great cooler when filled with ice for camping trips n such.
